Fomo App Review 2026: Can You Really Copy Traders on It?

Fomo is a social trading app: a feed of what other traders buy, a leaderboard and a swipe-to-buy button, on iPhone, Android and the web. In this Fomo app review we answer the question we hear most about it: can you copy traders on Fomo? Not automatically. You can follow a trader, get an alert when they buy and buy the same token yourself, but Fomo never places their trades in your account. Below we cover what Fomo does well, what it really costs by trade size, how safe it is and how it scores on our copy trading bots ranking, checked against Fomo's own pages on November 7, 2026. If you want trades copied for you, we point you to the bots that do it.
Quick summary
- Fomo has no automatic copy trading. Following a trader puts their trades in your feed and can send you alerts; you still buy by hand.
- Fees: 0.5% per buy and per sell on bigger trades, 0.45% through a referral link. Small Solana trades pay a fixed amount or 2% instead, and Fomo covers Solana network fees.
- No confirmed hack as of November 7, 2026. The wallet is self-custody, with sign-in by email, Apple or Google.
- Want trades copied for you? GMGN and Trojan do it automatically. Fomo fits traders who want to pick each trade themselves.

What Fomo does well
Fomo feels like a social app with a buy button, not a trading terminal. Four things stand out.
- A feed of real trades. The Feed shows what the people you follow and Fomo's top traders buy, sell and close: the size, how far the price moved since they bought and the profit when they exit. Many add a short thesis. In early November 2026 Fomo started translating theses into your language and gave every profile its own feed of trades and ideas.
- Leaderboards to find traders. Traders are ranked by profit over 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time. At the end of October 2026 Fomo added a positions leaderboard that ranks single trades, which you can filter by size, with the thesis behind each one.
- An easy start. You sign up with email, Apple or Google, with no seed phrase to write down. You deposit USDC or pay with Apple Pay or a debit card, and one USD balance works on every chain Fomo supports.
- More than memecoins. Perps run on Hyperliquid and Trade.xyz with more than 290 markets, from BTC to stocks like NVDA, indexes and gold, with TP/SL and, since early November, TWAP orders. Perps are not available to U.S. persons.
It is also big. In our last scan DefiLlama showed about $38 million traded on Fomo in 24 hours, more than GMGN, and Fomo says its perps volume reached $5 billion in October 2026.
Can you copy traders on Fomo?
Not automatically. Fomo's own help page says it plainly: "Copy trading on fomo isn't automatic—you decide whether to follow each trade."
Here is what following a trader does:
- You tap Follow on their profile or on the leaderboard, and their trades show up in your feed.
- You turn on notifications for that person. Fomo can alert you when they buy a new token, sell or take profit, and you can set a minimum trade size so small trades don't ping you.
- You open the token, see their entry on the chart (Fomo marks where the traders you follow bought and sold), choose an amount and swipe to buy.
Step 3 is always you. No setting buys for you, sizes the trade for you or sells when they sell.

Why that matters
- You get in later than they did. The alert comes after their trade lands. Then you have to see it, open the app and decide. On a token that runs in minutes, your price can be far above theirs. On a position they hold for weeks, a later entry matters much less.
- You can't watch everything. Ten active traders can mean dozens of alerts a day. A copy bot doesn't sleep; you do.
- But you choose. Every trade passes your own judgment, and you skip the ones that don't fit. Some traders want exactly that. Our comparison of copy trading vs manual trading goes through who fits which.
One more caution. Fomo's X accounts post big wins every day, like $100 turned into $68,000. Those are picked winners, not typical results, and Fomo's terms say other users' theses and trade histories are their own, not Fomo's advice. Look at a trader's whole history, not their best trade.
Can a copy bot copy a Fomo trader?
Fomo profiles are built around usernames, not wallet addresses. Some bots have started to work around that: on October 20, 2026, MevX announced copy trading by Fomo username, so you don't have to hunt for the wallet. Know the limits before you try it:
- A copy bot only copies on-chain spot trades on the chains it supports. A Fomo trader's perps on Hyperliquid, and their trades on chains your bot doesn't cover, won't be copied.
- Fomo traders often build and trim positions over days. A bot that copies every small buy and sell pays a fee on each one.
- MevX scores 5.80 on our page, well below our picks: smaller volume, and a 2025 security incident that was refunded.
Rather than chase a username, we would pick wallets by their on-chain record. GMGN's Rank tab lists wallets by PnL and win rate over 7 or 30 days, with a Copy button on every row. Our guide to finding smart money wallets worth copying explains what to check first.
Fomo fees: cheap on big trades, not on small ones
Fomo publishes its fee schedule on its help center. The standard spot fee is 0.5% per trade, on buys and on sells, and a referral link takes 10% off it (0.45%). On Solana, smaller trades work differently. Fomo sends each trade through whichever route is available, and the cheapest route charges:
| Solana trade size | Fomo fee on the lowest-fee route |
|---|---|
| Under 5 USDC | 0.10 USDC |
| 5 to 47.50 USDC | 2% |
| 47.50 to 190 USDC | 0.95 USDC flat |
| 190 USDC and up | 0.5%, or 0.45% with a referral |
Other Solana routes charge 0.5% with a 0.95 USDC minimum, and the route you get can change from trade to trade. That only matters under 47.50 USDC, where another route can cost 0.95 USDC instead of 2%. The referral discount doesn't apply to the fixed amounts. A few major tokens cost 0.05%. The app shows the fee before you confirm, and Fomo's terms say that displayed fee is the one that counts.
In return, Fomo pays Solana gas, priority fees and the rent for new token accounts. On Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum and its other chains, you pay network fees on top of the 0.5%.

Here is the bot fee per trade on Solana next to the two copy bots we recommend:
| Trade size | Fomo | GMGN | Trojan (Telegram, after 20% cashback) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 USDC | 0.40 (2%), or 0.95 on another route | 0.20 (1%) | 0.16 (0.8%) |
| 100 USDC | 0.95 (0.95%) | 1.00 (1%) | 0.80 (0.8%) |
| 500 USDC | 2.25 (0.45%) with a referral | 5.00 (1%) | 4.00 (0.8%) |
From about 120 USDC per trade, Fomo costs less than both bots, and from 190 USDC its 0.5% is half of GMGN's rate. Under 47.50 USDC it charges 2% or more, but it also pays the network costs that you pay yourself on a bot: the priority fee, the anti-MEV tip and the token account rent. On small trades those often cost more than the bot fee; our breakdown of Solana copy trading fees shows how fast they add up.
Is Fomo safe?
- Self-custody. Fomo creates a wallet for you. Its key is split into shards that only come together inside secure hardware to sign a trade, so Fomo can't move or freeze your funds on its own, per its security write-up. You can export the private key.
- Your login is the key. Your email or Apple ID is the way into your Fomo wallet. Give it a strong password and two-step verification, keep Face ID on (Fomo asks for it to open the app, withdraw and export the key) and turn on Fomo's own MFA, which it pushed in early November 2026.
- Token warnings. Fomo flags tokens that look malicious and shows a token tax warning on launchpad tokens, but it still lets you buy them.
- Clean record. We found no confirmed hack when we checked on November 7, 2026, so Fomo gets 9 out of 10 for security on our page.
The usual risk with a popular app is fakes: install Fomo from the App Store or Google Play, open only fomo.family, and remember Fomo never asks for your key or password by message. Our 10 rules to keep your wallet safe apply here too.
How Fomo scores on our ranking
We score every bot and app the same way: six criteria from 0 to 10, weighted volume 25%, security 25%, referral 15%, copy trading 15%, age 10% and fees 10%.
| Criterion (weight) | Fomo | GMGN | Trojan | What decides Fomo's score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volume (25%) | 10 | 9 | 6 | One of the biggest daily volumes on DefiLlama |
| Security (25%) | 9 | 7 | 9 | No confirmed hack |
| Referral (15%) | 6 | 4 | 7 | About 25% for referrers (Fomo doesn't publish the rate) |
| Copy trading (15%) | 3 | 10 | 10 | Follow and alerts only |
| Age (10%) | 7 | 9 | 8 | Live since about May 2025 |
| Fees (10%) | 9 | 7 | 8 | 0.45% with a referral on bigger trades |
| Total | 7.70 | 7.70 | 7.90 |
Fomo ties GMGN on the total and is listed third on our page, after Trojan and GMGN, as of November 7, 2026. Its weak spot is the one this article is about: copy trading gets 3 out of 10, the score we give tracking without copying. As an app to trade in, Fomo is near the top. As a copy trading tool, it isn't one.
Fomo or a copy trading bot?
Fomo fits you if:
- You want to see what others buy and pick each trade yourself.
- You hold for days or weeks, so a later entry matters less.
- Your trades on Solana are above about 120 USDC, where Fomo's fee is lower than both bots'.
- You want one app for tokens on 7 chains and perps on stocks and commodities (outside the U.S.).
- You are new and want Apple Pay and no seed phrase.
Pick GMGN or Trojan if:
- You want trades placed for you, around the clock, with your size and filters.
- You trade fast memecoins, where an entry a few minutes late is often a loss.
- You want copy settings: market cap and liquidity filters, a max buy, copy sells or your own TP/SL.
GMGN is better at finding wallets to copy and covers 14 chains; Trojan costs less on Solana after cashback and has no confirmed hack. Our Trojan vs GMGN comparison goes into the details.
Or use both: Fomo for the trades you want to choose yourself, a copy bot for the wallets you want to follow automatically. Keep each balance small, because every app that trades for you holds a hot wallet.
FAQ
Does Fomo have copy trading?
No. Fomo lets you follow traders, see their trades in your feed and get alerts, but you place every trade yourself. Fomo's own help page says copy trading on Fomo isn't automatic.
What are Fomo's fees?
0.5% per buy and per sell, or 0.45% if you signed up through a referral link. On Solana, smaller trades pay fixed amounts instead: on the cheapest route 0.10 USDC under 5 USDC, 2% up to 47.50 USDC and 0.95 USDC up to 190 USDC. Fomo pays the network fees on Solana; on its other chains you pay them.
Is Fomo safe to use?
We found no confirmed hack as of November 7, 2026. The wallet is self-custody, with the key split into shards and only used inside secure hardware. Protect the email or Apple ID you sign in with, and turn on Face ID and MFA.
Can I copy a Fomo trader with GMGN or Trojan?
Only if you have the trader's Solana wallet address, because copy bots copy wallets, not usernames. Even then, only their Solana spot trades would be copied, not their perps or their trades on other chains. MevX added copy trading by Fomo username in October 2026.
Is Fomo available in the U.S.?
The app is. Perps and tokenized assets are not available to U.S. persons, per Fomo's terms.
Key takeaway
Fomo is a well-made social trading app: easy to start, cheap on bigger trades, busy, and with no confirmed hack. But it doesn't copy trades. Following a trader gets you their trades and alerts; the buying is up to you. If that's how you like to trade, Fomo is a good place to do it. If you want a bot to copy wallets for you, use GMGN or Trojan.
Open them through our links: Fomo (10% off Fomo's 0.5% fee), GMGN or Trojan. Our Fomo guide walks through every screen, and our copy trading bots page compares 20+ bots and apps.
Trade Fast. Trade Smart.
Some links are referral links: you pay no extra fees (on Fomo you get 10% off the standard fee), and we may earn part of the trading fees. Data from Fomo's help center, terms and X posts, DefiLlama and our copy trading bots page, checked on November 7, 2026. Nothing here is financial advice; memecoin and perps trading are high risk.
